Axios highlights challenges in the current system

Recently, the publication, Axios, highlighted the concerning status of our area non-profits serving the homeless populations. When a family becomes homeless, there are now only two locations they can go to remain together. The only alternative is to split up parents from each other or from their children, further stressing the other emergency providers in the homeless system. It doesn't end there. When families separate, new challenges arise, often in transportation to schools, medical care, work, etc. It further highlights that for all of our systems to work efficiently, individuals and families need to be housed first. Affordable housing is part of the upstream solution to solving homelessness. If you would like to be part of the solution, we are interested in hearing from you.
